Installation & availability

The Chrome Web Store listing is not available yet. The install button is intentionally disabled until the official listing is published.

Use the official Chrome Web Store link on this site when it becomes available. In Chrome’s Extensions menu, pin DireBitViewer to keep its popup close at hand. The extension also has a full-page options interface.

We do not offer a direct CRX download. If your browser is managed by a workplace or school, its administrator may restrict extension installation.

Missing prices, slow updates, or error 429

• Check your connection and try again later. Providers can be temporarily unavailable.
• An HTTP 429 response means the provider is limiting requests. Wait before refreshing; repeated refreshes can extend the problem.
• Confirm the CoinGecko coin ID, not just the ticker. Different assets can share a symbol.
• History availability varies by asset, period, and provider access. A missing chart does not necessarily mean a missing current quote.
• An optional CoinGecko Demo API key can be entered for the current popup or options page. It is held only in memory; closing or reloading that page means entering it again. Provider restrictions still apply.

For provider details, see CoinGecko’s API information. Prices may be delayed or unavailable; always check your source before relying on a figure.

Connect a public JSON source

1. Use a public HTTPS endpoint that returns JSON, without login, embedded credentials, secret query values, or redirects. Local network addresses and custom ports are not supported.
2. Enter the quote URL and a simple dot path to a numeric price, such as data.price. Array indexes can be used in a dot path, for example prices.0.
3. Use {currency} in the URL path or query if your endpoint supports the selected display currency. A history endpoint may also use {days}.
4. If you add a history URL, set its history field paths to match the provider response. Leave history unconfigured if your source supplies quotes only.
5. Approve the optional permission for the source host when Chrome asks. If you decline, requests to that host cannot run.

If it fails, verify the response format, field names, supported currency, and host permission. Do not put an API key in a custom URL: the URL is saved locally without encryption. Custom JSON tokens without CoinGecko metadata use initials rather than a guessed logo.

Local settings & permissions

Change your watchlist, currency, and source settings in the extension. Settings use Chrome’s local extension storage, not a developer account or cloud sync.

Manage host access from Chrome’s extension settings. Revoking host permission stops access to that host but does not by itself erase the saved URL. Removing the extension clears its Chrome-managed local settings; browser image caches are managed separately in Chrome.
